« The 2010 HGRC Specialty Subcommittee on Patient Movement began studying the issues related to use of patient handling and movement (PHAM) equipment in health care facilities in early 2007. In the course of sharing our research and expertise with one another, we learned there is an abysmal lack of knowledge and information on this subject throughout the architecture and design professions and only a slowly growing recongition in regulatory agencies and in the health care industry itself—a fact we are convinced must be addressed. »
